Best Non-Toxic Toys for Dogs

Being a new puppy owner,  I set out to find some of the best non-toxic dog toys for him.  Logan is an 8-month old Brittany mix who loves to play and chew.  I wanted to find the very best toys that would be tough, healthy and sustainable.  Doing a Google search helped me find just what I was looking for.

Most of my choices couldn’t be found in town so I purchased them from Amazon.  Here’s what I got:

Zogoflex Bumi

zogoflexI was excited by West Paw Design‘s products and philosophy. Their Zogoflex line of durable chew toys are not only BPA-and-phthalate-free, non-toxic, and FDA-compliant, but they’re completely recyclable. In fact, if you send your worn out Zogoflex toys back to the company, they’ll turn them into new Zogoflex toys. Over and over again.

Jolly Pets Tug-n-Toss

Watching Logan enjoy the challenge of a stuffed Kong is both hilarious and heartwarming. These natural rubber toys are not only great fun, but focusing on chewing them can do wonders for dogs with separation anxiety.  I’ve been giving Logan one in his kennel every time I leave.  You can stuff these toys with canned food,  organic peanut butter, or any number of funky recipes  found here. All Kong rubber toys are free of BPA, PVC or pthalates.

Sustainability doesn’t just mean that earth-friendly materials are used. It can also mean that it’s an object that will last for a really, really, really long time, outlasting the competition. For that, I found the stuffed toys from Tuffy’s Pet Toys. They seem to last through the worst abuse, and that includes using them for our rambunctious games of tug-o-war.
